Spiritual Inheritance
Question:
What do you mean by "rights and inheritance"? You refer to
it from time to time. Can you elaborate?
Answer:
As the redeemed of the Lord, we have some treasures that we
inherit. As brothers and sisters of Christ (Romans 8:17),
we are in line for inheritance and some of that inheritance
comes in the here and now (1Corinthians 2:9) if we are
willing to make withdrawls from the account. This is a New
Testament sort of view and mindset. It is proactive and
characterized by confidence and faith in God. To those who
have never been around it, this mindset and accompanying
language sounds arrogant. God loves it! It is
covenant-confidence at work.
Not everyone is ready for it or wants it. I think that is
probably one reason why Jesus was rejected by so many of
His own. Jesus said to those assembled:
"I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If
anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the
bread that I shall give is My flesh which I shall give for
the life of the world." (John 6:51 and on through verse 68
where Peter declares, "Lord, You alone have the words of
life!")
This incident of "Living Bread" caused a serious parting of
the ways. Some say, "this is a hard saying." Yes, a tough
one! Jesus is talking covenant and they know it. His stock
has dropped and things are looking dark for Him in the
religious-political scene. Not many wanted to be in
covenant relationship with Him. This would aligned them far
too intimately with One who was headed into the wine press.
As you more and more recognize what is yours through the
gift of salvation (sozo in Greek meaning to deliver,
protect, heal, preserve, do well, make whole, Ephesians
2:8, James 1:21 ) you begin affirming it to yourself
(Confession of
Faith) and proclaiming
it in prayer.
Now we have a renewing of your mind, a whole new
mindset. New mindset: new behavior: new confidence: new
flow of the power of God through you.
This is Covenant living! This is living in the power of
your Divine inheritance. If you haven't already made the
shift, I can tell you it is life changing.
A primary purpose in the e-course, Release the Power of Psalm
91, is to
fast-track people into realizing the power dynamic that
God is inviting us into. As I get feedback from folks
who are or have already done the study, its clear that
many make the shift.
I had an email from a soldier in Iraq who said, "I can now
honestly say, 'I have no fear. Thank you for introducing me
to God in way no one has before'."
Lots of similar messages come in. This one has moved me the
most because I have such a heart for our young ones in
Iraq.
This answer is brief considering a book could be written on
the subject. But, pursue the Holy Spirit on this subject.
The Spirit is your teacher!...part of the inheritance. Make
a withdrawal! You'll probably run into me there at the
"bank".
