Psalm 91:
The Beginnings of
No Storm Too Great!
Sleepless
in Visalia
My daughter
Mandy had not been able to sleep for a few nights. On the
third night of sleeplessness she decided to go downstairs
for a while. As she passed the open doorway of the office
at the foot of the stairs, she sensed something dark and
disturbing.
In the several days before, a temporary office person had
worked in this space. He did not fit the job and Mandy had
terminated him. What she sensed in the wee hours of the
morning was that he had left a spiritual deposit behind
that was disturbing the entire home, especially her sleep
time.
What do you do with such information? It was three in the
morning, so she wasn’t going to call me. Few others
of her acquaintance could actually “hear” what
she was concerned over. So she prayed, “OK, Lord,
what do I do now?”
Psalm
91 to the Rescue
She got an
immediate flashback to days when my husband and I, along
with both daughters, would go through the house praying. I
would pray as the Spirit led. Dwaine would pray in tongues.
And, both girls would proclaim Psalm 91 from different
translations.
“Proclaim
Psalm 91!” She
ran for her Bible, opened to
Psalm 91, and
proclaimed away.
When Mandy recounted this story to me several days later by
phone, she had already encouraged everyone in her work
sphere to pray
Psalm 91. “It
will transform your home and your workplace,” she
told them. “It will transform you!”
I could hear the vitality in her voice and knew that she
had received a powerful touch from God in this prayer
experience. “Are you praying
Psalm 91, Mom?”
she asked.
The
Power of Psalm 91 Across the Phone Lines
Well, actually,
I was in the midst of studying this and several other
scriptures as the possible basis of a
project…squirreled away in Arizona to do some
writing. “Psalm
91, Mom! You
gotta do
Psalm 91!”
Because of the power of God I could hear running through
Mandy, I did take a closer look at
Psalm 91. Yes, this
would be the basis of my prayer project. Six months later,
six months of prayer, study, and writing, the script
for
No Storm Too Great! was finished.
From
that beginning of “Mom, you gotta do
Psalm 91!”
we have a 2 CD set of
No Storm Too
Great!,
the
website
www.pray-the-scriptures.com,
this website, and a variety of studies like
Release the Power of Psalm
91 and
workshops based on
Psalm 91.
I don’t know exactly what Mandy released in the early
morning hours of June 2001, but it is still moving. It is
still moving me to pray, research and write. I have a
burning desire for all believers to come to that place of
confidence in the Lord and His Word that I heard in my
daughter.
