Psalm 91 – The Power of Testimonies

I was doing a CD signing at Berean Christian Store in Bakersfield when a woman of advanced years came through the doors. Despite her age, she walked with purpose and authority. As she neared my display of,
No Storm Too Great! she slowed and stopped. “Psalm 91”, she exclaimed, “my very favorite!”

Then she went on to tell how she had prayed
Psalm 91 daily for her husband as he battled his way through Europe during WWII. “Three years and he came home without a scratch!”, she assured me.

Don’t you love to hear the stories of triumph that people associate with Psalm 91? These testimonies build faith for the hard times that periodically come to every one of us.

I have memories of visiting my friend Lucy to find her and her friend, Ramona, sitting at the kitchen table, Bibles before them. They were both praying
Psalm 91 for their sons who were in Kuwait during Desert Storm. When trouble hit, they knew where to go.

When Mexico City was devastated with an earthquake in the late 1980’s, my friend, Cathy, found her peace and comfort in
Psalm 91. Her son, Brian, was on a mission trip to Mexico City. “The assurance of God was miraculous,” she says. It was several days after the quake that Brian was able to make contact. Brian was fine.

In the tough times, we remember the
Psalm 91 testimonies we’ve heard and they draw us like a magnet to this Scripture. So it seems appropriate that we should have a gallery of testimonials on this site. Enjoy and feel free to offer any you have for inclusion.
