Psalm 139
This is another wonderful prayer from
Myrt, a traveling missionary from South Africa. I thank her
and all who have taken the free e-course
Release the Power of Psalm
91 and then
blessed me with their prayers.
This prayer combines two different translations of Psalm
139. Combining translations brings richness and clarity to
your prayers. Read more about this in Twenty-Six
Translations.
Prayer
Oh Lord God, You investigate my life and You know
me,
I'm an open book to You, even from a distance, You know
what I'm thinking.
You know when I leave and when I
arrive; I'm never out of your
sight .
You know everything I'm going to say before I even
start a sentence.
I look behind me and You're there, then up ahead and
you're there, too...You hem me in!
Your reassuring
presence is with me wherever I am and in whatever I do,
in all of my
coming and going, You are with
me.
This is too wonderful, I can hardly take is all in!
There is nowhere where I can avoid Your Spirit or be out of
Your sight.
If I climb to the sky, (even in a plane, or
helicopter) or soar like an eagle, You're there!
If I go underground, or to the depths of darkeness or
despair, You're there!
If I fly on the wings of the dawn, or go to the
far side of the seas,
You're already there
waiting...even there Your Hand guides me and holds me
fast.
At night (or during hardships) I'm immersed
in Your love and light!
It's a fact: darkness, (war, lack of finances, sorrows
or tribulations) are not dark to You,
and You control my
life .
Lord, You shaped me inside and out; You formed me in
my mother's womb.
I thank you, Most High God...You're breathtaking!
Body and soul, I am marvelously made!
Thank You Father
God.
I worship
You in adoration...You
know every part of me!
Your
thoughts towards me are rare and
beautiful!
God, I'll never comprehend them! I couldn't even begin
to count them,
any more than I could count the sand of the sea.
When I awake, I am still with You!
Search and investigate my life and heart O
God,
test me and be aware of every anxious thought,
set my soul and spirit at peace to be confident in
You.
Let me know when I do anything wrong,
help me,
uphold me,
guide me and make me aware of Your abiding
Presence and love.
Please guide me on the road to eternal life and You.
Amen
